液压马达减速机一体按其结构特征来分可以分成传动齿轮式、叶片式、柱塞式和其他型式。按液压马达的额定值转速分成快速和低速档两类。额定值转速高于500r/min的属于快速液压电机，额定值转速小于500r/min的属于低速液压电机。快速液压马达的基本上型式有传动齿轮式、风冷式、叶片式和径向柱塞式等。他们的主要特点是转速较高、惯性力矩小，液压马达选型有利于运行和制动系统，调整(变速及换相)敏感度高。通常快速液压马达导出转矩并不大因此又称之为快速小转矩液压马达。低速档液压马达的基本上型式是切向柱塞式，除此之外在径向柱塞式、叶片式和传动齿轮式中也有慢速的构造型式，摆缸内五星液压马达的主要特点是排气量大、容积大转速低(有时候可达每分几阶乃至零点几阶)，因而可立即与运行组织联接，不用降速设备，使传动机构大幅简单化，通常低速档液压马达导出转矩比较大，因此又称之为低速档大转矩液压马达。
